_HiTiles for Falcon 4 SuperPAK______________
I've created a number of higher resolution terrain tiles to improve the graphical look of the Falcon World. These textures feature:
- 256x256 pixel resolution (instead of the old 128x128 tiles)
- Based on real world orthofoto imaging
- Properly resized to fit the scale (1pixel=4m)
- Include night lighting effects (were applicable)

This is the package used to install the various tilesets that can be downloaded from below.
You MUST get this (Keep it on your harddisk to easily add additional tilesets in the future).
After the download completes, unzip the file wherever you want, then read the included "HiTiles_ReadMe.txt"

How do these files work with the HighAltTP patch batch from Widowmaker?
The Base installer now includes an improved, fully automatic version of the HighAlt patch. Just run this script before installing the HiTiles.
Do these tiles also work with other theatres?
Yes. Just add them to the texture.zip of the desired theatre. When running SPTinstall, point it to corresponding base theatre folder.
Do these tiles have any effect on Multiplayer?
No. As with plane skins, this has no influence on Multiplayer (altough it might be a bit harder for you to spot enemy vehicles hiding in the woods...).
Uhoh. The Installation is too complicated for me. Isn't there an easier way?
This question was ok with the old, 4DOS-based installation procedure. Now the BaseInstaller features a fully automatic installation procedure...
Uhohuhohoooh. I don't like the tiles. How can I uninstall them?
Hopefully you followed my advice and have backed up your falcon\terrdata\whatevertheatreuinstallto folder... then you can just delete the actual folder and rename the backuped one.
I got stuck in time and still fly RP5. What now?
HiTiles are pure eye-candy ;-) So if you are interested in using them, you will enjoy SP3 too, I'm sure!
(Yes, you can use them with RP5. After installation, just run TInstall (available in old Balkans) instead of SPTinstall)When flying at high altitudes, a "demarcation line" is visible on the ground (e.g. over forest). How can I get rid of it?
Download this copy of the "FArtILES.PAL" file and put it into your PATHTOYOURFALCON \terrdata \THEATRE \texture folder (e.g. C:\falcon4\terrdata\korea\texture), replacing the existing file.
You can also try a third-party installer available from Stiletto: Get TIGOR here! Tigor ("Tile Integrator") features additional palette manipulation to improve the colors of the final tiles.
Additional improvement can be achieved by starting Falcon using the -g4 command line parameter (open the properties of your shortcut to Falcon and add " -g4" to the end of the "Target" textbox string (e.g. C:\falcon4\FalconSP.exe -g4)) and then setting the Terrain Detail slider in the Graphics Setup Tab to a value above 7.
